In this intermediate VMware VCP5-DCV training, Keith Barker prepares learners to configure and maintain highly available and scalable virtual infrastructures using vSphere 5.5.

Though the VCP5-DCV exam is retired, this VMware course serves as valuable training for anyone who is still working with vSphere 5.5. General support ended back in 2018, but extended support will continue until 2021. Given the popularity of this desktop virtualization software, it’s possible you’ll run into it on systems long after that.

Once you're done with this VMware skills training, you'll know how to fully use VMware’s flagship virtualization platform, including how to install, manage, and administer a virtualized data center using VMware vSphere v5.5.

For anyone who manages their shop or company’s VMware training, this VCP5-DCV training can be used for VCP510 exam prep, in on-boarding new network administrators, or as part of a team training plan.

Who Should Take VCP5-DCV Training?

This VCP5-DCV training is considered professional-level VMware training, which means it was designed for network administrators. This VCP510 course is designed for network administrators with three to five years of experience with infrastructure virtualization.

New or aspiring virtualization specialists. The VCP-DCV certification this training prepares you for is meant for experienced network and systems administrators — its prerequisite is a certification meant for junior administrators. Nevertheless, this training can help a relatively new administrator no matter what level of experience or certification they hold. If your workcenter needs you to handle desktop virtualization, the advanced contents of this course will make sure that planning, configuring and troubleshooting vSphere comes easily — plus, then you’re prepared when you eventually take the advanced certification.

Experienced network administrators. There are a few reasons why an experienced network administrator will want to seriously consider this training. If your current (or future) workcenter uses vSphere for desktop virtualization, this training can make you an expert in its functionality. If you already hold the VCA-DBT and want a professional-level VMWare certification, this is one of the many available to you. Or if you want to expand outside of your comfort zone and learn about virtualization, this is a great step forward in your professional career. No matter the reason for getting it, this VCP5-DCV training will make you an even more knowledgeable VMWare expert.
