Claude Certified Architect – Foundations (CCAR-F)

Taught by
UPDATED: September 3, 2026
Intermediate

Move beyond basic API calls and learn to architect resilient AI systems using Claude, Claude Code, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agent SDKs. This practical, skills-aligned Claude Certified Architect – Foundations (CCAR-F) course equips software engineers with the architectural patterns needed to build and scale enterprise AI applications. You will configure developer environments using CLAUDE.md files, custom slash commands, and CI/CD pipelines, while mastering multi-agent orchestration, structured state management, error propagation, and context retention across complex agent workflows.

What you'll learn with Claude Certified Architect Foundations training

  • Design and implement agentic loops and multi-agent orchestration patterns with the Agent SDK
  • Configure Claude Code workflows using CLAUDE.md files, slash commands, and CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Build and integrate MCP tools with structured error handling and appropriate tool distribution across agents
  • Apply few-shot prompting, JSON schema enforcement, and retry loops to produce consistent structured output
  • Manage conversation context, session state, and information provenance across long multi-agent interactions
  • Implement escalation patterns, human review workflows, and confidence calibration in production systems

Claude Certified Architect Foundations training FAQs

What experience do I need before taking this course?

You should have hands-on experience working with data, ideally in an analytics or engineering role. Familiarity with SQL is expected, and some exposure to Power BI or Azure data services will help. If you have never written a DAX formula or built a data model before, plan to spend extra time on the semantic model sections.

How is this different from a general AI engineering course?

General AI courses focus heavily on model training, fine-tuning, and ML theory. This course focuses entirely on production application architecture using Claude as the core intelligence engine. You will work directly with Claude Code, MCP servers, and agent orchestration frameworks to learn how enterprise AI products are built in the real world.

What does the CCAR-F exam actually test?

The exam tests your ability to make architectural decisions across five domains: agentic architecture and orchestration, tool design and MCP integration, Claude Code configuration, prompt engineering and structured output, and context management. The weighting in this course reflects the exam blueprint directly, with agentic architecture carrying the most weight at 27 percent. Expect scenario-based questions that ask you to choose between approaches rather than recall definitions.

Is this certification worth it if I am not actively looking for a new job?

If you are already building with Claude or planning to, the curriculum has practical value regardless of the credential. The course covers patterns like multi-agent orchestration, MCP tool design, and context management that come up in real production work. The certification also gives you a concrete way to signal Claude-specific architecture knowledge to stakeholders or clients, which matters as organizations start asking who on the team actually knows how to build with Claude properly.

Does the course cover Claude API usage or only Claude Code?

Both. Claude Code is a significant part of the course because it is how most practitioners interact with Claude in a development workflow, and the course covers CLAUDE.md configuration, slash commands, and CI/CD integration in depth. The Agent SDK, MCP integration, and orchestration patterns are covered through the API and SDK layer. You will come out understanding how the tools connect, not just how to use one of them in isolation.

Who is Claude Certified Architect Foundations training for?

This course is built for backend developers, software engineers, and system architects transitioning from basic LLM experimentation to production system design. If you already build with web APIs and want to architect enterprise-ready agentic workflows using Claude, this course is for you.
